Elle had eventually gotten exhausted and passed out. Matt really thought he should join her. But first... he really had to talk to someone. And it would be better for his health to do this over the phone. He gently closed the door to the bedroom and moved to the kitchen, dropping on a chair and pulling out his phone. He waited for the man to pick ( Read more... )

((Assuming you two want to visit him...Posting Order: Mo, Matt, Elle)) doc_suresh June 4 2011, 00:41:04 UTC
That evening Mohinder was hiding in his apartment eating a vegetable pizza, hoping Matthew didn't come back. It wasn't his business, anyways, what Matt did with his private time. Humph.

He'd decided to try one more time to talk to Mohinder. Elle had wanted to come along, and he figured he might as well talk to both of them at once. For his sake, he needed something settled.

Elle checked herself again as they approached the door. She'd worn her most harmless outfit, hoping it would put Mohinder's mind at ease. She didn't even know why she was doing this, to be entirely honest. She liked Mohinder, but if she had the slightest reason to kill him, she would do it without a second thought.

But Matt wanted to play nice with him, and she knew that in the long run, she'd have to play nice with the nerd. And it wasn't right that such a mind should be squandered on a body like that.

Besides, this was the best time to visit Mohinder, because in the morning, they were going to be too sore to do much else than have copious amounts of sex. Again.

She glanced at Matt, decided all of his clothes were being worn as they should have been, and knocked on Mohinder's door. Hope you have a plan if he tries to shoot us. Though, really, Mohinder would probably just try to kill Elle.

Mohinder grit his teeth when he heard the knock. That could only be one person...

Lo and behold, when he opened the door it was two. How quaint. "Can I help you?"

"Hey, buddy." Matt forced a grin like nothing was going on. "Want to go get a drink?"

Elle glanced at him, wondering if he was serious, and then painfully pasted the same smile on her face. When in Rome... "Yeah. Help us celebrate and all that."

"I appreciate the offer," he said gently, "but I've got pizza and an early meeting in the morning." He was a horrible liar but they should have known this would be uncomfortable. "I'm sorry."

Matt closed his eyes for a moment. Of course Mohinder wasn't going to let this be easy. "Mohinder, please. Just... give us five minutes."

"Or... sweetie? Could I talk to Mohinder for a sec?" This pussy-footing around was starting to irritate her, especially she didn't understand why she had to be nice to Mohinder in the first place. The little twit just had to learn how things were going to be from now on. It shouldn't be that difficult.

That didn't sound pleasant in the least. He held onto the door and stared at Matt, sending him thoughts.

Say no. Just go away, please. I don't want to deal with this right now. I said this morning that I accept it. Isn't that enough? Go home with her.

"Elle!" He raised a hand, sighing. "Ok, Mohinder, I'll make this quick. I know you guys don't like each other. I'm not asking you to. Just... play nice. For me, ok?"

Elle crossed her arms. "I'm trying to be." She glared at Mohinder. "Maybe if you just said what the hell is wrong, Mohinder. Let me guess. Even after saving your stupid, miserable life, I'm not good enough for him?"

Come on. If anything, it was the other way around. Elle just needed Matt for some things, thereby giving him a semblance of power. Ugh. Thinking too much. Bound to get overheard.

She studiously avoided looking at Matt, instead concentrating on Mohinder.

He narrowed his eyes at Elle. "Actually, Miss Bishop, this isn't about you in my book. Matthew knows why I'm upset...and he also knows that bringing you here will not solve anything. So perhaps you should both go home and enjoy your new marital bliss," he said rather kindly. Mohinder didn't have a mean bone in his body, but he wore his heart on his sleeve most times, and he was genuinely hurt that Matt had kept all of this from him. "Goodnight."

Didn't help the situation that he found Elle to be a bit of a lunatic, and he couldn't for the life of him figure out how this relationship had come to fruition.

He winced at the thoughts running through Elle's head. He didn't know why; he'd known that this wasn't that kind of marriage. Had he expected something to change?

Matt sighed, sliding his hand over his eyes. "Elle, can you wait at the car? I'll take you to dinner."

She bit her lip, feeling like a dog that had just taken a dump on the carpet and was now being sent outside. "Fine." She almost managed not to say anything more, but then it spilled out. "He can't treat you like that, though, Matt! You aren't some- some- whatever the fuck he thinks you are. And- whatever." She shook her head and headed off, cursing her dress. She must have chosen the wrong one. Or done something wrong.

She almost stopped to get the keys, but there was no way she was going to look imperfect in front of Mohinder. Not if she could help it.

He watched her storm off, affronted by what she said about him. Mohinder rolled his eyes and yanked Matt into the apartment, then shut the door. "Seriously? You're making my life hell right now. I may be your friend but I don't have to be perfectly happy about everything you do, and you should respect that, Matthew. You haven't exactly been here for me lately. Friendships are two-way streets, pal."
