Last night I amused myself with different journal layouts. They all came out like crap, thank you. Some of them sabotaged my customized colors to make happy little hues of light blue and beige on white bread. Others transformed my journal into uniform slab of #cc0000 red and #ffff00 yellow.
I'm tired of my layout, but I love it to death. In the spirit of Devo's debut album cover, I made my journal in simple fingerpaint colors. Maybe I was under the possession of Piet Mondrian. Well, I did betray the scheme a bit with #3333ff blue in the visited links. A necessary evil justified in the name of readability, I say. I might tweak the active link color to follow suit (meaning no more #ff0000). If I'm feeling really sadistic, I'll just make my journal neon colors.
In the styles offered to free account holders, I would say "Generator" fits my sentiments best. All the boxes are equal in width and shape. Each entry is no more important than myself, since each one just reflects myself at that particular moment though my own perceptions. Each entry floats independently within a self-contained packet. At the same time, it is part of a larger whole. This train of thoughts progresses upwards into the existing present occupied only by myself. Since my writings are generally mundane ramblings, it has to follow the conventional idea of linear time and space. In short, Mondrian made me do it.
On a quick side note, I slimmed down my interests list. It was getting a bit stuffy in there.
