Why do I recommend it?
Another interesting way to bring back Thorin, Fíli and Kíli - this time for real. Unlike my previous rec, this is very much an AU, but still manages to remain as close to canon as possible. Plus, this is the first time I saw a fic in which the Arkenstone is much more than just a pretty jewel - oh, and how much more it is!
The story is ungodly 47 chapters long, but absolutely captivating - I read through an entire night to skim it and will have to re-read it to enjoy the little details, too.
