Dear Yuletide Writer 2018
Hey there, and thank you for writing for me! I've got some prompts below, but feel free to write something different if you're finding them hard to write/have a different idea - they're just there in case you want them. If you're interested in perusing them, I also have an ao3 and a tumblr.
Likes: Canon divergence, "what-if" fics, and fix-it fics are always fun. I adore worldbuilding, missing scenes/pre-canon, atmosphere and detailed setting; I like learning more about the world and the characters! I love family/found families, people working together in weird situations, especially when they don't know/like each other that well yet. Complicated, emotionally fraught relationships (any combination or version of friends to lovers or enemies or friends to lovers, for one) and slow burns are my catnip. And I generally prefer fic in the tone of canon. I like both shipfic and gen!
Dislikes: I'd prefer no PWP (smut is fine as long as it's not the sole focus!), darkfic unless requested, non-canon AUs, or crossovers this Yuletide - sorry if that's what you were planning on writing!
The Good Place
Eleanor Shellstrop, Tahani Al-Jamil

I adore these two together. Their dynamic of liking each other despite themselves, and in the end becoming firm friends, is everything to me. I'd love either gen or slash for them, and feel free to include other characters as well!
Of course, there's the reboot where they're soulmates - what happened there? Did they fall in love, torture each other hilariously, or end up as friends and allies? What if they had never died and ended up meeting on Earth anyway - or had been in the real Bad Place? I'd love to see Eleanor helping Tahani past her Kamilah-related insecurities and/or Tahani helping Eleanor be less of a dick, whether in the original neighborhood, on Earth before their deaths or after Michael saves them, or somewhere else. Alternatively, Eleanor being a dick to defend/protect Tahani, and Tahani finding it kind of hot!
A League of Their Own
Kit Keller, Evelyn Gardner
I requested both Kit and Evelyn, but feel free to write about just one of them, and to include other characters! I would love anything about just the daily life of being on the team, riding the bus, playing, and so on. I'd love friendship or even slash fic about these two - maybe they work together on some playing skills and develop a rapport? Or Kit helps Evelyn with Stillwell sometimes? I definitely read Kit as not being straight - if you're interested in writing her discovering her sexuality with a crush on/relationship with Evelyn (or one of her other teammates, if you want!), I would love that! Also, either pre- or post-canon focusing on one or both of them would be lovely - maybe they meet again after the League disbands? (Maybe Kit supports Evelyn in leaving her terrible husband!) Fix-it fic where Evelyn is alive to see herself in the Baseball Hall of Fame would also be lovely.

Mostly I would love to know more! More about the world this takes place in, more about what happened to the narrator, whatever strikes your fancy. I love the dark, mysterious, longing tone of the song, and the imagery of the darkness and the woods. Who is the narrator talking to, and why? I'm totally open to darker fic for this fandom, and I love horror and supernatural things.
There are also two other songs in the album, Love Like Ghosts and The Night We Met, with very similar tunes and chord progressions and lyrics, that seem to form a loose narrative with this song. If you're interested (totally okay if not ofc!), I'd love an exploration of how all three songs connect.
