Dear Trick or Treat Author
Hello, ToT author, and thanks so much for writing for me! I'm still finishing up my letter, but figured I'd make it accessible so you have something to start on other than a blank signup. Prompts are up at last! All the prompts are things I'd be interested in, but really anything that you enjoy writing, I'm sure I'll enjoy reading, barring DNWs. No need to stress about filling my prompts if they don't work for you, and feel free to mix and match them up as your heart desires!
First, general likes and dislikes (in no particular order):
I like: Canon divergence; worldbuilding; atmosphere; missing scenes/pre-canon; found families, odd couples, and intense, codependent relationships. Character studies; I love darkfic/horror, but I also adore fluff and everything between the two. For darkfic/horror: body horror/dysmorphia (e.g. not recognizing self in mirror), skewed perceptions/doubting sanity, creepy mirrors, gaslighting, uncanny valley, psychological horror, people "coming back wrong", whump and H/C, PTSD. For shipfic/PWP: slow burns and UST, all the kissing, power dynamics/power play, BDSM, teasing, dubcon. Fic combining horror with shipfic or PWP would also be delightful!
Plz no: Non-canon AUs (high school, coffee shop, in space etc), crossovers/fusions, scat/watersports, vore, completely hopeless endings (dark is totally fine! I just prefer there to be some glimmer of hope, even if it's a small one), issue fic, character bashing, daddy kink.
The Conjuring
Ed Warren, Lorraine Warren
One of the things I love most about this movie is how Ed and Lorraine didn't feel at all like stock "ghost hunter" characters. They have so much compassion and knowledge that they bring to the cases they work, and they clearly care deeply about each other. Alone or together, I'd love to learn more about their day-to-day life - maybe taking care of the cursed objects, maybe another case they (or one of them individually) takes on. Something about Lorraine's abilities could also be super interesting. Basically I'd like to know more about their lives and the world they live in! Rather not get PWP in this fandom.
Young Wizards
Kit Rodriguez, Lone Power
I love these two together and apart. I read a fic a while ago that made me ship them; but gen or them solo is just as interesting to me! As a pairing, I love the banter, Kit's refusal to be afraid. Kit also has a tendency to empathize with other points of view to the point where he gets sort of absorbed into them, which could either lead to him understanding the Lone Power more, or to darker scenarios. For on their own - I'd love to know more about Kit when he just became a wizard, before Nita met him, or his perspective during the first book; for the Lone Power I'd love to know its perspective during an Ordeal (not necessarily one of the Ordeals we know about from the books) or maybe fun speculation about some of the forms it exists in.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy Summers, Spike, Rupert Giles
Spike being my fandom bicycle, I ship him with both Giles and Buffy, and I'm developing an interest in Giles/Buffy (though sadly I don't ship them all in an OT3). Gen or solo is good too! I love the dynamics between all these characters; how much Giles cares for Buffy and how much she trusts him in return; how Buffy doesn't want to have feelings for Spike but still does, and how much he loves her; and the hilarious animosity between Spike and Giles. Fic that deals with the weird stuff relating to any/all of these three in "Restless" would be super interesting! I'd also love anything about "Something Blue" - or a scenario where it's Buffy/Giles or Giles/Spike under the spell instead. For darker fic, any of them having a codependent or manipulative relationship would be lovely! This could involve Spike drinking from Giles or Buffy - or one of them withholding blood from him.
That 70's Show
Donna Pinciotti, Eric Forman, Jackie Burkhart, Steven Hyde
In this fandom, whether a trick or a treat, I'd just love something with lots of character voice. Something I love about this show is that it feels much deeper and more complex than a lot of sitcoms - the characters have a lot to explore about them. As always, group or solo is fine, gen or shipfic (I ship Donna/Eric, Jackie/Hyde, and Eric/Hyde). Anything involving hanging out in the basement will make me happy - maybe the first time all/some of them get high? High!sex PWPs are also awesome. I'm a sucker for first times/first kiss for any of these pairings. For Donna, maybe something about her writing, or the things that happen in her family? For Eric, I'd love to know about how the basement ended up becoming the hangout spot. Hyde - what was it like for him to move into the Forman's? Jackie - how did she become part of the group?
