cargoweasel has been posting lately about
bioarts, which reminded me of the
sky-garden-filled tower Daniel Liebeskind designed for NYC, currently under construction (though it has nothing to do with bioarts at all).
Straight off of a Ray Bradbury book cover, this is the sort of futuristic architecture that I've wanted to see in cities since visiting EPCOT as a kid. At the same time, I question the realities of something like this. Will the plants grow well at altitude? If not, won't we just have a building with an unsightly gash in it? I'd love to see the building in thirty years with vines and plants creeping up the sides as they reclaim the building -- it's already pre-apocalypsed for your entertainment.
