was the first reaction I had after being gone for so long.
Yep, I'm back online after 10 hard days of working long hours at work and not seeing my place. You kind of forget what it looks like after awhile and realize what you've missed. So what have I've been up to since I got back home? Not much. Just caught up with what was going on in the world, since most of my focus was on the work at hand. The project is finished, but for the past few days, I've had to go back to work to take care of some things. For now though, I've managed to get some rest (got the rest of the week off, at least in theory) and just recharge from the major work undertaken.
- On Hotels - It's very interesting what is going on during a hotel stay. For me during the time I was away from my place, I managed to get a free stay at a hotel due to the work we had to do. So during that time, there was a ladies' volleyball tournament, a bridge tournament, and then to cap it off a marathon all during the week. So yeah I like what happens at hotels. Wish I had more time to meet people though, which I guess is my weakpoint.
- Managed to get my place cleaned up decently today. After a 10 days of being away from it all, the work piled up pretty badly.
- Got my headlight bulb replaced. So during the time I was running back and forth between work and the place we were staying at, my light went out. So with the help of my best friend up here, we got it changed out and it looks great. :)
- Speaking of best friend's, I got to hang out with him and his wife and his mom at their place today, while changing out the light, and got caught up with them on what was going on. The worst part of working those long hours was trying to talk to and catch up with folks. So I'm hopefully going to get to hang out and play a bit of Phantasy Star Universe again with him and a couple of folks that we know.
- On PSU, it just so happened during my long hours that I was informed today that the group I usually played with is getting back together again. And apparently even though it's been about two years since I played, it looks like most of my account is intact and I'll be a lvl 80 person again. Although I do fear that I'll be relapsing into MMO mode during this time, I know that I can keep it in check. Just got to keep track of the time.
- On Battlestar Galactica: I managed to watch all three hours worth of the series finale. Was I pleased? I was somewhat. They didn't answer all the questions, and there was some good scenes in there. I was especially sad during the last few minutes (hint, Adama and Roslin) because it reminds me of my parents I guess. But yeah, overall I thought the ending did close a lot, but left a lot unanswered. I may have to watch it again so I can take a look at what I may have missed in the full tour de force that was displayed.
- On Anime, managed to get caught up on some series out there. I've been very selective as of late on what I want to watch and it's been very helpful. I've enjoyed the series I've picked so far. Gundam 00, Toradora, Skip Beat, Regios, The girl who leapt through space, Kamen Rider Decade, Hajime No Ippo. The stuff that I've picked interests me a lot and hopefully I can keep up with it.
- NCAA basketball - Yes, I do like this season when you get to pick who's going to win in the brackets. Unfortunately my home team lost (Clemson :( ) but there's always hope in your pick of winning it all in the tournament. I didn't get into a betting pool like most of the folks at work, but I like to guess who's going win it. I think it'll be UNC again UCONN for some reason. Just a feeling. We'll see how it goes.
- Animazement - Still a go and hopefully I'll get to cosplay a bit during it. What will I be doing? Mostly my usual gig of helping out karaoke and then cosplay with audio operations. Although, it's crept in my mind that sometime in the near future, I will be retiring from that convention as well (maybe for a few years, maybe for good). It's not 100% definite, but it's definitely a thought that I've had for awhile.
Well that's pretty much it for me. Hope you're all well. Back to clean up and getting ready for next week. Take care everybody.
- Ed :)
