WarRock

Want the action of Battlefield 2 online but don't want to pay for the game? Korea comes to the rescue by way of yet another free online game, which goes by the name of War Rock. It's a simple capture-the-flag type of game with a military theme, has simple yet varied maps, a selection of vehicles (hence the BF2 comparison by some), and of course, a bunch of player classes and weapon selections. How does it earn money, you ask? If you haven't noticed from other such offerings like GunBound, profit is generated via a system of micropayments, which allow for some in-game luxuries at the cost of some real-world dough. In this case it means better guns and better equipment, and from what I've read they own stock noobs pretty darn fast.

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for, but let's face it - free is a very enticing price, and for an action-packed ride that's less than 200MB and better than some commercial offerings out there, what's not to like? I gotta check this out one of these days (maybe at work, hehe).
