Back when Teknolohiya was still known as The Show, I used to make references to something called EPIC 2014. EPIC is basically a conspiracy theory, a look into a future where the news landscape and the media is ruled by the unrestricted Internet, the blog and by the Google machine. I'm an outspoken Google advocate, but a future like this is a little overwhelming. It spells the end of privacy, and the utter sensationalism of the truth. It all sounds like a world where ignorance is bliss, where factoids are the new fact, where people have refused to think for themselves, and where truth is just another layer of lies. Is a future with EPIC really what we want? Are we really headed in that direction? What happens after that? Inform yourself. Watch the video. It'll be worth your while, not to mention your integrity as an intelligent, discerning denizen of the Internet.
In the meantime, I'll be watching from the shadows, sticking it to The Man. Someone has to guard the guardians, and I'll be damned if Big Brother takes me without my putting up a fight.
