Thoughts on DnD 4th edition

Okay, so Memorial Day weekend was a weekend full of gaming in the house. Allison, Kate, Monica, and Henry came over. We played a lot of DnD 4th edition, with the pre-release dungeon crawl, "Keep on the Shadowfell", which Allison ran for us. It came with a slew of pre-gen characters: a Dragonborn Paladin of Bahamut (I played), a Halfling Rogue (Monica), a Human Cleric of Bahamut (Paul), a Human Wizard (Steve), a Tiefling Warlord (Henry), and a Dwarven Fighter (Kate). The game was a lot of fun and Allison did well as a first time DM.

I had a lot of fun with it. My only gripe is that I didn't get to custom tailor my character's abilities, but having Dragon breath every encounter was awesome! I wish that I could hit with either of my smites, I had an one that was an encounter power (did 2d8+5 damage at 1st level) and a Daily Power that did much more. I missed every time >_>...

I felt like I was actually playing a hero and that our characters were able to control the battles.

Very fun! Thanks to everyone who joined us this weekend, hope you had just as much fun!
