“Sanity is for the weak!”
Be aware of SPOILERS. This FST is about Naruto and Sasuke’s relationship post-timeskip. Meaning, if you’ve not read up to manga chapter 310 or around you won’t get the whole thing.
I decided to focus the FST on the Valley of the End events (because it's too important to brush it aside) and their little interaction post-timeskip, including those 2 years and 5 months being apart from each other. Knowing it's neither the first nor the last FST about them, I thought it'd be refreshing~ to center on the newest chapters of the manga. I hope the songs will explain it all properly. The possible spoilers are attached to every track, so be careful.
Just in case, I recommend you all go to ship_manifesto and read cephiedvariable's essay about the couple. I guess she wrote it a year ago, covering up to the Valley of the End events, around volume 26 (chapter 233) but correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway the manifesto is very helpful to understand the pairing. She did a wonderful job and man, I’ll wait for a continuation when there is more canon interaction in Part 2. It'll be worth the wait. ;)

Sasuke POV. After his encounter with his brother, Sasuke starts to lose the little sanity he had. He can’t allow himself to accept Naruto as a comrade because it’d imply Naruto is more powerful than he wants to believe the other ninja is. The idea of Itachi being after Naruto, and not himself, quickly corrupts his mind. Just in time, Orochimaru’s envoys appear to convince Sasuke to join forces with the missing-nin to obtain the power he needs to defeat Itachi. Sasuke makes up his mind: He’ll gain power no matter what dark path he has to walk through.
Now hear this my friends

Naruto POV. Naruto is finally accepting his real feelings toward Sasuke. He wants the boy to see him as an equal, he considers Sasuke his best friend, even the first real bond he ever made. He admits he always thought higher of Sasuke, secretly wanting to be like him. This acceptance gives him the power to chase after Sasuke no matter what.

Sasuke POV. Technically this isn’t a Sasunaru song. It’s about Sasuke's flashback remembering his childhood, his brother and what happened to his clan during his battle with Naruto in the Valley of the End. I decided to include a song about Sasuke and Itachi because I found it important for his relationship with Naruto.
Disarm you with a smile

Sasuke POV. Sasuke knows he must kill the person closest to him to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan his brother told him about. It means he has to kill Naruto, being his closest one, to obtain that power. During their battle he looks like he's made up his mind, but in the end he claims he’ll find his own way to obtain that power, sparing Naruto’s life.
I hurt myself today

Naruto POV. Even when Jiraiya tells Naruto to forget about Sasuke, he doesn’t give up. Instead, he decides to chase after him and the idea of bringing him back becomes his obsession.

Naruto POV. After the timeskip, Naruto meets with Orochimaru and Kabuto. It’s pretty obvious then that when Sasuke is mentioned, Naruto loses control.

{oo7} The Beatles - I’m looking though you
Naruto POV. Sai explains the discovery of bonds that he's made thanks to Naruto♥, and you can tell there's this kind of sad expression in Sasuke's face for a second before he claims he severed those bonds a long time ago. Before their battle in the Valley of the End, Naruto tells Sakura that Sasuke is too strong to do some foolish thing like joining forces with Orochimaru. Although he was wrong, Naruto is still unable to give up on Sasuke when they meet 2 years and 5 months afterwards, even when he's not the same Sasuke he once knew.

Naruto POV. It looks like Sasuke already forgot about Naruto (and all his comrades from the Leaf Village). He claims that it was just a whim what made him spare Naruto’s life in their last battle and although he says he’s going to kill him now because of another whim of his, and a few good opportunities indeed turn up, the truth is that they get separated again and Naruto is still alive.

Sasuke POV. So, Sasuke is super strong now. He gets into Naruto's mind to see the Kyuubi and there's this really weird expression in his face when the demon warns him not to kill Naruto because he'll regret it.

Naruto POV. Alright, this is practically the perfect song to explain their current dynamic. I left it as the last track on purpose because really, don’t the lyrics explain pretty well what is going on in the manga right now?
