I've been needing to do a clean load of Windows for a while now, but the sheer magnitude of the task of hauling everything from my backup drive to the new hard drive caused my procrastination gene to kick into overdrive.  As a tech, I recommend a reload of the OS at least once a year in order to help the system run quickly and stably.  That being said, it has been almost three years since I reloaded mine.  Couple that with the fact that the install of Windows that I have been using was originally put on a 160 Gb drive and then copied in its entirety to a 320 Gb drive via Partition Magic, and my system problems get compounded.  Therefore, this weekend has been declared "Computer Maintenance That You Should Have Done a Really Long Time Ago But Didn't Because You Are a Lazy Sod" weekend.  I bought a 750 Gb SATA2 drive and spent last night formatting, installing and updating.  Everything went swimmingly and the OS itself installed without a hitch, which is nice since Windows flakes on about 5% of installs regardless of whether you follow directions or not.  All of my drivers got loaded except the printer, which I will probably put off until I actually need to print something.  Today's project is installing and updating the games that I most frequently play, installing iTunes, and then plugging in my old drive and pulling all 90ish Gb of music and TV shows off of it and putting them onto the new drive.  Personally, I'd rather just get a game installed and then waste the day playing it, but the sooner I get this done, the faster I can go back to utilizing my system in the manner to which I have become accustomed.  It has become the primary entertainment system in the house.  The only thing it doesn't do is live TV.  That will probably be the case for all eternity as I've never met a TV Tuner card I didn't despise.  Still, the house is too quiet without my music.  Hopefully the transfer won't take too long.

On a completely unrelated note, I have no idea what the title of this means.  It just hit me funny, so I put it there.
