2) Are you actively involved in any roleplaying games at the moment? Yes
3) If yes, of what sort? (Livejournal, Fandom, Pen and Paper, Play By Mail) Forum, fandom based but with original characters.
4) What is it about roleplaying that appeals to you the most? I enjoy character interaction the most. Creating a story is a close second.
5) What is it about roleplaying that appeals to you the least? I'm not interested in games where you're trying to win. I would rather "lose" a game and enjoy a good story than win a game. Puzzles are fun, but they can't be the only thing or I'm not interested--I'll just buy a sudoku book for those. Or play Clue. ;)
6) Do you avoid identifying yourself as a roleplayer because of negative stereotypes? It doesn't come up much.
7) How did you first get interested in roleplaying? It's been too long to remember clearly, but I think my first game was a fandom-based PBEM with original characters, run by someone I knew from the fandom (and respected).
8) If you don't currently play a pen and paper game (D&D, or any of the multitude of systems out there), what would entice you to consider trying it? There would have to be cool people involved in it. I wouldn't have fun unless I hit it off with them personally.
10) Would you prefer your first pen and paper experience to be a one-shot "teaching" adventure, or do you want to dive right into a full campaign? It depends on the game, I guess. If I had to learn a lot of rules in order to be any good at it, I'd want a trial run first. If It was something I could learn as I went along, I'd be fine with diving right in.
11) You have joined a roleplayers group, and discover that everyone, except yourself, is male. What can the players and game master in this game do to make you feel comfortable with the experience? Don't be sexist jerkwads.
12) If you are not already an active roleplayer, is it because you have no interest, no exposure to the possibility, no opportunity to try it in a friendly environment, or some other reason? A combination of all of those.
Yes
