...I'm symbolically pleased that I'll be starting the new year in Colorado with my family, rather than in Jersey by myself. Dunno why, really, as I never do anything for New Year's anyway, but starting the decade in Jersey just seemed like a karmically bad beginning.
I just realized that I automatically put an apostrophe into "New Year's." I suppose it's a shortening on New Year's Eve? *researchy!* Ah, yes, Google (well, the first link, anyway) informs me that the holiday is, in fact, "New Year's Day." Excellent. All decades should begin and end with grammar questions. ;)
