7 Random Facts-Tagged by Calogipi

Wow.  Seven random facts about myself.  This is tough because I consider myself extraordinarily dull.  But I'll never have peace at home until I try so...

1.  I was walking when I was 6 months old.  My mom (having no previous children to judge against) thought this was normal.  My pediatrician did not.

2.  My second grade teacher was also my primary teacher.  This made the incident with the darts (which resulted in me and my best friend (also in the same primary class) getting our backsides whacked with a boat paddle in the principle's office) all the more humiliating.

3. I grew up around airplanes.  My father was a pilot and owned his own (a couple of Beechcraft Bonanza's, the V tails).  He was also a Bishop and a businessman which means that most of the time I spent with him was in the plane.  I learned to fly and loved it, but never finished my license requirements.  But I still love aviation.  There are many good gospel and life analogies to be found in flight.

4. My favorite author is Wilbur Smith.  He can be a little racy at times, but he has a talent for description that is nearly unparalleled by contemporary authors, and his stories and plots are fascinating.

5. I began snow skiing when I was two years old.  This was a major part of my life until I left the west 12 years ago.  In fact, I began cycling for no purpose other than dryland training for ski racing.

6. I have never been to a class reunion and have no desire to ever attend one.  I have no desire whatsoever to remember the person I was as a teenager/young adult.

7. The best vacation I have ever had was a family reunion in Hawaii over Thanksgiving.  We relaxed and had fun for 9 days in the islands.  Golf, snorkeling, scuba, Thanksgiving day football with cousins, and in laws.  We had 82 people there.  35 of them flew out of Birmingham (there were only 2 seats on the plane that weren't our family).  Best.Vacation.Ever.

I have no one to tag...all of my friends have been hit already (I think).
