Excercise on tv

Okay, so. I now have a DVR. I also have a much bigger living room. I *also* have aging joints and stiffening muscles.

I think you see where this is going. :-)

I turn 50 in about three weeks. I do NOT want to keep hobbling around as soon as I stand up or have every muscle in my body aching just because I've been on my feet for several hours for some reason (even in really good, supportive shoes).

So, what I'm looking for is some televised exercise program I can record and use to build strength and flexibility. Bonus points if there are exercises devoted to strengthening knees. :-)

I *have* been in excellent physical shape in the past. I used to be limber and strong and that's been within the past 20 years. The past 10 haven't been as good as they could, but the last five have been murder. Now that I've got my pain under control, I need to make up for time lost while I was in too much agony to do much more than sit. I'm walking a lot more for my cardio, but the stiffness and lack of flexibility are killing me. I now live just over a mile from a shopping center. Five years ago, I wouldn't have thought twice about just popping over there and doing what I needed to do. Now I have to think long and hard about walking a mile and expecting to be able to do anything but sit for a while at the end of it.

I'm sick of that.

So, suggestions? (Note: not spending any money. ;-)
