SNOW! And stuff.

First off, thanks to all of you who gave me the lovely snowflake cookies. :-)

It SNOWED here in Houston on Friday! So, very weird. My kid showed me some pictures she'd been sent but she still hasn't sent them on to me so I can post them. One is very nice as it shows one of our bayous with snow all around it. It's an interesting juxtaposition given that the bayou's designed to handle the fallout from tropical weather, yet it surrounded by a lovely dusting of snow. :-) A very rare occurrence around here. Ah, well, it was almost all gone by evening, but it snowed almost all blinkin' day here inside the city while the northern suburbs got next to nothing. We're closer to the coast, though, so we got the moisture before the Arctic blast could shove it offshore.

I did find these and #20 is an excellent expression of how we tend to view the white stuff falling from the sky. :-) In fact, let's see if I can't paste that one in here. :-) I have no idea who that woman is, but I do recognize the huge grin. :-)

We do love our snow.

And we get a little silly over it, too. :-)

On the flipside of the freakishness of Mother Nature, I was also visited by the freakishness of technology. *sigh* Not only did I have almost *constant* DSL troubles (sometimes I really hate AT&T) for most of the weekend, but then yesterday my whole system crashed and I spent HOURS picking up the pieces and rebuilding things. And oh, the updates. The many, MANY, many updates. I *think* I've finally gotten things back to where they belong, but I think I lost a few current versions of some .doc files. Nothing Earth-shattering, but damn. Very annoying.
