Because I'm too lazy to be detailed:

-Orientation for Bryn Mawr was really cool; I met some fun people, and now have new friends who make me giggle. Today I looked up from my book and thought Raimi was approaching, but obviously she wasn't, and it made me sad.

-Wedding plans are not going forward until much much later in the future, in case anyone was wondering, since we're still not living in the same area. This might sound strange, but for us getting engaged was our way of acknowledging that that was the direction we've both been expecting to go in for a while. Nick keeps referring to it as "the legitimization of our relationship by the patriarchy." This is why I'm marrying him.

-Today was the first day of classes, and it's such a different experience than undergrad, I'm not sure what to do with it. Maybe Carly can give me some sounding-board time on what social work programs are like, but I found it to be extremely clinical (not in the sense of direct service, but in the sense of being rather cut-and-dried) in spite of the program's insistence that social work has to be a dynamic and varied profession. I'm also not sure how I feel about the idea of becoming a "professional," even though it's most certainly my best option if I want to stay in advocacy. We shall see as time goes on. It was only the first day, and I haven't even had my first day at stage yet!

-Knitting continues to fascinate me, since the project is coming along nicely. I had to frog a row, which was quite annoying, but overall it looks great and I'm excited to see how it will turn out!

-Chocolate is good.
