Encounters With Amherst
I have decided that I really need to start a series of posts detailing my Encounters With Amherst.
Today, I needed to take Jodie's cats to the vet for their checkup and shots. In the cab on the way home, the driver told me (in casual conversation) that he has the same name as a character in a popular old sitcom. Also, he's a medium.
On another occasion, I was walking home from work and an RCMP car pulled up next to me. I was very puzzled by this as the only thing I could think of that I might have been doing wrong was walking on the wrong side of the road (there are no sidewalks there). He told me that he sees me walking home a lot and that I "always have a good head of steam on". Seriously. Given that it has been asked 3 times already, I will say that no, he was not in an age category to be hitting on me.
