So i've decided not to go to the Blizkid show tonight at Hell.
I was all geared up and ready to go, and just as I started getting ready, I got inexplicably tired and just really drained. This makes sense because of the weekend I had, and I never really got to catch up on sleep because our dumb-ass neighbors downstairs woke me and Kristian up with their blasting Raeggatone. It was infuriating, and needless to say, I never went back to sleep. So I've bone-tired..
On top of that, I have to work at 8am, which means I'm not going to want to stay the entire duration of the show. Because of this, i wouldn't have a way back home from Hell. I mean, I'm sure I could score a ride after the show, but because of how late it's sure to go, I would be forced to either walk or endure the duration and not get enough sleep for the fourth - or maybe 5th - might in a row. Neither sound like particularly enticing prospects.
I hope whoever goes (or went, by the time anyone reads this) has a great time, though. I'm sure it'll be a great show.
I do, however, have a bunch of other things coming up, so here's my calender for the next couple of weeks:
Friday, March 30th - Amy's birthday party at her house. It oughtta be fun fun fun. I really miss hanging out with Amy.
Thursday, April 5th - Placebo at Lupo's. I'm totally going to this with Amy. It's a $20 show, which is a ton of money, but it's bound to be a good show. I'd give plenty to see Brian Malko in person. Mostly cuz he's hot, I'll admit. But in any case, I've not been to Lupo's for a show since AFI, and that was really awesome. Maybe I can convince Eric to go with me... does anyone remember if he likes Placebo?
Friday, April 6th - Tony's party. I'm still not sure if I'm going to this. I talked to Zach, who I just assumed was going, and he isn't because he has to work. Now, I don't know where Tony lives, other than it's in Boston somewhere. Which is fine, I can take public transit there, but I really don't know if I wanna go to a party at Tony's where the only person I'm going to assume I know if Tony - unless I can bring friends. If I could con some friends into going up with me, the chances of having a good time would be greatly improved.
Thursday, April 12th - Rasputina are playing at that Art's Place they played at last summer in Fall River, and that was a really amazing show. I might just contact the venue to see if I can vend Drop Dead stuff - otherwise, I might just bring some Drop Dead Magazines and hope I can sell them there. How cool would it be if I could set up a table, all professional-like, though?
But really, they always put on a really great show, and I'm excited to be able to see them again, and so soon after the fact.
Anyway, that's my schedule. Does anyone else know of anything cool happening at any time soon?
I totally wish we had a bigger apartment with cooler neighbors. I would love to throw a party here. But this apartment is much too small for anything larger scale than a small get-together. And the neighbors call the landlord to bitch for volumes any louder than a small whisper, so it's not very conducive to large parties. But I'd love to throw one. You know, pipe-dreams and all that. I wish I made more money so I could afford a bigger apartment.
But I guess tonight I'll use this time to get some menial shit done before passing out on my big, comfy bed.
MMmmmm. That sounds good right now.
Oh, and before I forget, while I was in NYC, I stopped at Generation Records and bought a few CDs for the bus ride home.
The Legendary Pink Dots - Canta Mientre Puedes
Siouxsie and the Banshees - The Scream
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - No More Shall We Part
I found out that my copy of No More Shall We Part skipped on the last two tracks, so I replaced it immediately. I don't feel bad about this, because the copy of the CD I had was an advanced promo copy I bought off of EBay, and it was essentially an authorized burned copy. No artwork, no fancy casing, no nothing. Really bland. I wanted a real copy anyway, and now I got it. Now I just have to figure out how to refrain from playing this album out to the point where I wear it out so I don't have to buy another one.
Speaking of EBay, and Siouxsie, and CDs, I really hate the Post Office. At the end of February, I ordered four Cds off of Ebay from the same buyer - someone I know in real life, so I know they sent them. Three Siouxsie CDs, two I didn't have, and an Einsturzende neubauten CD. They buyer sent them, and apparently they were supposed to have been delivered in the interim from moving from one apartment to the other. But the seller sent them to this apartment, so they should have showed up. This was Weeks ago. I still haven't seen them. This is the second time this has happened with this seller, who I bought an Edward Ka-Spel CD off of way back when and it disappeared somewhere. He says he sent them, yet I haven't gotten them. I believe he sent them, but there must've been some screw up when we moved into this apartment, because I just started getting mail here, like, two days ago. I called the post office and apparently all of the mail addressed to here was returned to sender because our names weren't on the mailbox. This is ironic because there was only about two days when we lived here that the names weren't on there. They said all of it was returned to sender. I hope they actually did and that he'll get it at some point, because I really want them, and hell - I PAID for them.
Anyway, I'm done.
