I can't help but do these stupid surveys every year. I know how dumb they tend to be, but I can't resist.
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Played a roleplaying game. Probably not too exciting or devious, but it was definitely new to me.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Honestly, I don't truly remember my New Year's Resolutions (I mean really, that was a whole year ago!) I do remember a series of them with Will regarding getting drunk together and attending more movies together. We kept half of it.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My brother gave birth to his second child.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A relationship that isn't entirely frivolous. I had three this year, and they were all really half-assed. I'd like something that really sweeps me off my feet. Like every year, I suppose.
7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Well, there are two that really stick out, but more for political reasons. Like November 4th, 2008. Or August 8th, 2008. But for personal reasons, I don't think that any really stick out to the point where I'd never forget them.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Reaching some work-related milestones. Nothing too spectacular.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not executing plans that I had and truly thought I'd have the determination to see through. Also, not quitting smoking when I truly had the drive to.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Other than the quarterly plague, no.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My new apartment, if that counts.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My mother's and Will's.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, cigarettes, rent. The Usual suspects.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to Italy.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Elton John and karaoke. Or a combination of the two.
17. Compared to this time last year, you are:
Happier? Much.
Richer? Yes.
Thinner? About the same, I think.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Thinking and meditating. Also working out and walking. General exercises of the physical and mental variety, i suppose.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Drinking.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it with some friends. Low-key and relaxed,t he way I like it. No cooking, no cleaning, no entertaining, no pretending to like people you don't just because they're family...
22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
In a sense.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
NA
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone.

Coldplay (whom I really discovered this year.)
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I didn't see too many, actually.
31. What did you do on your birthday. And how old were you?
I got too drunk to be considered appropriate. Even on your birthday.
32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Traveling more.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
I think I'm definitely heading in a more grown-up direction with my style, and I'm not at all unhappy about this.
34. What kept you sane?
My time to myself, which I have always valued.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Nicolas Sarkozy.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The Russian invasion of Georgia, easily.
37. Who did you miss?
Old friends. I'd like 2009 to be a year of re-discovery.
