Scholastic & Food Poisoning

Sep 15, 2006 15:10

So I had food poisoning and missed all of my non dramatic-writing classes over the past few days. Hooray. I still went to DTS and FSA though, and I'm very glad I did. Beyond that though, I've had a pleasant week.

I had an interview with Scholastic today. It went over very well, and had he not still had a few more interviews to do, I got the impression I might have been hired on the spot. It was quite delightful, and the pay is more than right. I was hoping to make $9 an hour since that's what I was earning last year, but this is almost double. I'd be earning the same, perhaps a little more working part time what I did working full time over the summer. I can work so many hours now too since I only have classes three days a week.

The job sounds pretty fantastic, but I don't want to jinx it by gushing too much. I should know by Wednesday.

It's raining today, but that's almost good. My frog boots arrived in the mail, so I've been running around downtown with them. Went to the seaport to buy a lunch box so I can transport meals to classes. I feel good. Really good.

My screenplay ideas went over well in DTS. Luke's went over the best, but that's just because he's smart. Mine would have gone over splendidly had I not made the mistake of identifying my supernatural force as "le Devil." Note to self: Never say "devil," especially if it's not the focus or important while pitching anything because it will become the focus. So I basically had to listen to 10 minutes of people bitching about the use of the devil in my script when the devil isn't really in it, or that important. Urgh.

But I'm writing a horror movie, and I'm fucking excited.
