Good weekend
M stopped through Peoria for the weekend on her way back to Nebraska to get the boys. The women's conference in Evanston was just over-the-top awesome; she is just glowing and brimming over with life. We've had a wonderful 27 hours together without the boys - just enjoying and connecting with each other, really great conversation, and great sex. Mmmm.
I miss the boys terribly. The first couple days or so were nice for the quiet, being able to read for hours at a stretch, etc., but it got miserable pretty quick. I actually took Sammy's giant stuffed panda to bed with me as a surrogate for being able to hug him. And I'm already in counseling, so don't bother suggesting it. :)
M told me the sweetest story about Sam, a couple days after M left the boys in NE with her mom and went to Evanston. There's a picture of M and I in the living room where Sam was playing, and at one point he looked up at it, and then climbed up on the couch and sat there looking at it for a long time, quietly. Then he went and got his blankie, and lay down on the couch, looking at the picture, crying softly. Doesn't that just rip you up? Oh, I want him back here so bad.
She's leaving early tomorrow to go get Sam and Nathan, and should be back Wed or Thurs. Can't wait.
