I think I can name like...two times I've ever even seen a gryphon in a movie or television show, not including symbols or pictures of them. My inner Mercedes Lackey fan is writhing in joygasms right now. Geez, they even spell it the same way, and not Griffon or Griffin. Although it looks like this is an evil (possibly nonsentient) gryph that somehow breaths fire (unless that's just something exploding), but...it's a fucking gryphon. In its own movie thing.
