It's not that bad.

Have you ever been to Florida?

I'm afraid I haven't.

Good for you, then. Florida is disgusting and arid, I very redily believe that all the air was replaced with transparent lava long ago. So, this isn't that bad, no, not as bad as Florida, but if it gets any worse, it very horrifically will be.

Tokyo has its own difficulties in hot weather. The smog is suffocating.

Ah, then you're Japanese? Forgive me, the hair threw me off, not that I particularly mind it.

I have been to Tokyo, but the last time I stayed there for any significant amount of time it was called Edo, and cars were not yet vogue.

It throws quite a few people off.

The cars make as much of a difference in the city as the skyscrapers and pavement.

Well, I hate to be a sheep.

Yes, that too. I just tend to mention cars more often; in my home... Am I the only one who thinks it incredibly corny to say 'homeworld'? I guess so. Well, anyway, in my homeworld, I sell cars.

An interesting occupation for the Puck to choose.

I think so. It keeps me on my toes.

And what dubiously-as-interesting occupation did the kitsune choose?

I work for my stepfather.

An earnest choice. Not one I would have automatically associate with my Eastern counterpart, but still, fair and earnest.

My mother expects better of me than mischief.

That is rather unlike other kitsune I've seen, I must admit. Of course, the cliché about the exception to the rule is a cliché for a reason.

We've already established that I tend toward the unexpected. I wouldn't have imagined you selling cars, though I suppose your particular talents would lend you a certain aptitude for the occupation.

Then I will have to stow my burning curiosity and simply ask no further.

As I've said before, I don't know everything, but I do know everyone, and this helps fantastically when trying to sell... things.
