[House Break In:] Someone broke into our house today. The back garage door was open, screens were ripped off the windows, and the back window was kicked in. It leads into the basement-- that's where I live. My room is in the basement! I feel violated and unsafe ( Read more... )

Lol, no problem! I'm just happy that you did respond, even if it is a bit late. Been there, done that (obviously, just look at this blog!). I rarely write here, though, because I sort of hate whining about my life and dwelling on it... And most of my LJ friends have gone AWOL. ):

You can always contact me via email, though: LillithTheOddity[at]gmail.com

Anyway, I'm delighted to hear that you like the art! There will, eventually, be more where that's coming from! Right now I'm a little short on cash, but when everything straightens out again, I can focus more fully on it. XD

Yeah, I've been commissioning artists for years now (and yes, I paid the artist). Every artist works differently and has different rules/prices... But I find most on DeviantArt! Here's Mathia's page (the artist who drew the piece I commissioned for your fic):

Anyway, gotta go! I need to try to sleep a little before work... And I only have a few hours to catch z's left! XD

I'm so glad to hear from you! I feel so bad about not having seen your message until a few days ago... But yes, LJ has changed. I tracked you down across the platforms, though!! :-) And it's always good to have email backup.

It's an interesting concept, commissioned fanart. It's not something I'm used to; I tend to think of fandom as purely a gift economy. But it's true that msilverstar once paid money (real money) for a fic of mine but that was for Haiti earthquake charity so a bit different.

The artist is certainly amazing!

*smooches you silly and so glad to have hooked up*

Lol, yeah, sorry about the delay in response (via email on my phone, but it sucks and takes forever to load)! I actually did see your first private message, but my computer was in for repairs and I've literally only just got it back! So, tonight, I'll likely be able to actually fully (via all platforms) respond to your other messages.

Email is ALWAYS the best and easiest way to get a hold of me! :)

Anyway, don't worry about the delay in responding. It happens and it'd hard to prevent that sometimes.

Hee! You have no idea how happy I am to see that you're so thrilled about this. For some of the others I've commissioned art for over the years, most have basically responded with a "Cool, thanks" which... was a little disappointing, honestly, even if I did commission the image mostly for myself, despite it being inspired by another. Lol

Lol, I discovered commissioning art quite on accident via an artist frind of mine about 5-6 years ago. Since, I have literally just met the 100 commissions mark! :D Yay!

But I know what you mean -- most of fandom is based on giving and not buying, but these artists aren't always a part of fandom. For some (like my great friend Mathia) it's a livlihood and she'll basically make art for whatever she's paid to, whether she knows the fandom or not... but I DID get her into SGA like whoa and now she's obsessed with wraith! Mwhahahahaha! I should show you the GORGEOUS cover art she made for my birthday for free (and it usually costs around $200! She did her best work for me as a present!) Featuring Todd and Sheppard last month. Heee! :)

And yes! Glad to have gotten the opportunity to chat with you as well. :)
