[Two days being trapped inside a ship. Two days of increasing cold and a rapidly decreasing supply of food. They hadn't quite reached dire straits, but boredom, chilled limbs, and gnawing hunger were all beginning to take their toll on the trio trapped in the belly of the Britannia. If the storm was going to go on for very much longer, they'd need ( Read more... )

Jack--

We're alright, but it'll be good to see another face. Is the snow still coming down?

Jilly--

It's on its way out, now. I'll dig my way over. It's the drifts that are bothersome: in some places, the wind has near cleared the way down to the sand. In others? Drifts up to a man's neck. Is everyone well? Food? Water?

Jack--

We're fine for water. We've been melting snow. We didn't have food for multiple days, though. No one's going to starve, [at least not if rescue was on the way] but I wouldn't say no to a meal. A warm one.

Warm meal it is, then. There's a warm fire made up in Cullen House as well, if I can only fetch you here. Fort's snowed in. Have you out in a trice, as soon as I can get there.

Love,

Jack

Just be careful. We're not in danger, so don't risk anything that can be avoided, alright?

[eager as she is to get someplace warm, she knows Jack and she doesn't want him hurt for rushing]

[Jack is keen to get outdoors after the storm, so he's not sorry to be doing this. It has been a strange couple of days for the pirate for a variety of reasons, one of which has to do with him discovering that, in fact, he was in Luceti once before. And he can't remember any of it.]

[for her part, Jilly's certainly not going anywhere. She's just relieved that Jack was in a position to come at all.]

Before long, the captives aboard the Britannia might hear the low, gravelly singing of an old tune from on board the snowy deck above. If they don't catch that, they will probably hear the sounds of a shovel plunking down through the snow as the pirate begins to dig them out.

"'Allo? Jilly-love? Kennedy? Hornsomeoneorother? You still alive?"
