Bus adventure aka 3-monthly post

Jan 15, 2008 14:27

[first of all, my last post was titled "yasashiburi da na!", but the proper Japanese is "hisashiburi da na!". my bad.]

My friends and I are starting up a computer business. Maintenance, repair, building, etc. Thus we need to advertise.
Also, I've been wanting to take a "bus adventure" into Olympia for a while now.
So, I did that today, thinking I'd pin up some of our business cards around the college campus that I attended up until last year. Little did I realize that they clear their boards on the 15th (so I wasn't realistically able to post any cards), but that's beside the point.

The bus adventure was incredible. Totally worth getting up at 6AM for!

I didn't see my friend Sharesse on the bus like I had hoped, but that was kind of a long shot anyway.
I did see a girl on the bus with a Zune. I think it looked like one of the new 80-GB Scorpio models, but I couldn't tell for sure. So, just on a whim, I turned on the wireless Zune thingy to see if hers was on...and sure enough it was! Her Zune had a cool name too: Savvy Pirate. Mine's named Excellion. I also found some other Zunes, which was a surprise to me...I saw one named Bean on the way in to Oly and one named Natalia on a bus in Oly.

Once I got to the college, I went and visited my old haunt: the 34 building. I saw a couple of my old friends (including a girl from Writing 101 who I was surprised that she remembered me), and my old boss Chester. It was nice getting to talk to them again.
But my fickle brain got bored after playing some Brain Age (fun little Nintendo DS game) and watching some videos on my Zune, so I went to check my e-mail.

In my e-mail was a coupon for Borders, which I wanted to go to today anyhow. I printed that out and headed up to Borders to grab Saiyuki manga volume 3. I almost bought the DearS Fan-Book, but decided on Saiyuki because it made me look like less of a perveted fanboy (but believe you me, I'm ordering that Fan-Book from www.justmanga.com!).

Next I headed down to the mall, which I also wanted to do. I was planning on getting a 25-pack of DVD-Rs for hopefully 15-20 bucks...I ended up finding 100-packs on sale for $22.99 at Best Buy! ONE HUNDRED. WHOA? Totally sniped one. Now I can burn and play Guitar Hero Encore and Guitar Hero 3.
Speaking of Guitar Hero. I just -had- to play the Guitar Hero 2 demo, since there was no line. I played a song on hard and got about 98%, go me...but as I was almost to the end, I heard a familiar lame clicking behind me.
Some dude was playing the Guitar Hero 3 demo on Medium.
I waited until he was done. He spotted me, and said "you wanna try it?" I said "sure." Then I proceeded to get a 95% on Rock Me Like A Hurricane on Hard mode. The guy didn't even stick around for the whole song to see his pwnage. >3

Because of all this, I missed the bus back to SPSCC, where I was supposed to meet my buddy Nikki at 11. Oops.
I fired off a text message, freaking out that my phone was just about out of batteries. She got the message and replied that she was out of class early. So I replied back and we just met up for lunch at Happy Teriyaki, just a couple blocks from the mall. We met up there and had happy good times teriyaki lunch of woosh and yum. =D

Then we watched some cute Lucky Star AMVs on my Zune (one earbud for each of us), and then just headed home.
But when we got to my car, we were so into our conversation (about anime and manga) that we ended up staying in Nikki's car and talking on and on for nearly two more hours. But it was happy good times!

Also, I've been rockin' the Daft Punk t-shirt all day. Win.
