The concert last night was so awesome.
So yesterday I went to my American Indian Studies class in the morning, was hard to stay awake even though I had 7 hours of sleep, which lately is a lot for me. Went to the computer lab in Goldwater and did some homework. Then was gonna go to lunch with Bren at Subway, but I had forgotten something for my homework at home, so I drove back home, ate, did the homework (skipped architecture oh nos), and came back for UNI. After UNI I met up with Wes before his class, we decided to meet at Jennie's complex before the concert. I went and got $120 out of the ATM for a scalper's ticket. Then I skated all the way to the back of Lot 59, only to remember that I had gotten a good parking spot all the way up front, so I had to skate back there yay. I got gas, and Wes called me. I then realized even more why I hate when driving + cell phones mix. I almost hit a BMW backing out, and then when I was pulling out of the gas station, I looked left, saw no cars, hit the accelerator, looked straight and saw that if I had gone like a second earlier I woulda hit a pedestrian.
So I met Wes at Jennie's and we drove downtown. I was doing a turn and there was a scalper selling tickets and I quickly asked "how much how much" as I passed by, but the guy said "stop stop!!" but it was a green light and he wouldn't tell me how much and said "stop man you gotta open your door!!!" and as I was driving away I saw him give this big old angry/frustrated gesture followed by teh finger. We parked, and right as we got out of the parking lot I saw another scalper. He wanted $125, I told him I have $117, he said $115, so I pulled out $100 and actually counted it and put it forward and he gave me the ticket, w00t. It was general admission, best seats too, closest you could get. But I just sat by Wes.
Godsmack came on first, they were pretty good but I didn't know a couple of songs. I think they played 9 songs. Then there was like an hour break. In the mean time, there were about 10 people trying to fit into like 6 or 7 seats, and me and Wes took up 2 even though neither were our seats. Someone jacked Wes's seat or something. The drunk guy next to us was pretty funny, and he had this cool binocular/camcorder device. And he had 2 hot women with him, and some spare cocks. The one girl kept grinding Wes's hip or something, and everytime she came into or out of the isle she would touch my ass. Metallica was so awesome. They played 18 songs. And James said "THAAAAAAANK YOUUUUUUU PHOEEEEEEEENIX" like 3 times as if they were done for the night. They only played two songs off St. Anger, the rest was older stuff off previous albums, especially Master of Puppets, Justice For All, and black album. The intro to One was set up well, the lights and supports for the lights started collapsing and falling down as the war sounds were played just like in the song. They launched fireworks inside the arena too, the ones that pop really loud. It was even louder that close to them, and in an enclosed environment. When Kirk was doing the solo from One (I also blew my load at this point) the people in front of him were bowing in worship.
So yeah, best concert I've ever been to by far. They played for 2 hours. I have such a raspy voice today from the screaming and shouting. I think Wes may be in the same boat. Here's the songs they played.
