I've created a new account to help keep track of my symptoms, medical issues, and doctors visits to better coordinate my care. If you are interested at all and would like to know more about what goes on with me, feel free to add me over at
jessicatmd . I'll post some generalized stuff over here or make a comment here or there, but will be more specific at my medical journal. I figure it would help not only me, but my friends too. I'm trying to build a positive support network around me, and I figure the only way I can is if I keep people around me informed.
Aside from the medical stuff, I'm doing fairly well. I'm achievement whoring on Mass Effect since I got every achievement for Mass Effect 2. I'm completely addicted to the series and can't wait for the next game. Let me know when my intervention is scheduled.
It's almost the end of the semester!!! I believe I have an A in all of my credit classes, which will raise my GPA to 3.8. This pleases me greatly. I've been working very hard, even with all of my medical issues that have popped up. I'm waiting to go to the library tomorrow so I can work on my literary analysis paper. I've chosen
John Donne's Holy Sonnet X. I have to provide criticism from at least two others and analyze the paper and what it means to me. I can agree or disagree with the critics, and explain why. I've also been given permission to include some background history of John Donne and describe what was going on in his life at the time he wrote the Holy Sonnets: I'm hoping this can give some insight to his frame of mind. We also can compare other works, so I can say that the tenth sonnet is similar to something else if I can provide enough research, or compare criticism of other sonnets to the criticism of the tenth.
I will be taking the Summer off so I can get things straightened out with me, but will return in the Fall ready to go. I figure the Fall will be easy. I know for sure I'm taking College Algebra, and I might take a few electives. I was thinking maybe Intro to Womens Studies, Greek Mythology, and Mythology in Literature and The Arts. I thought about sacrificing two of those and taking Earth Science as a refresher (I'm saving Physical and Historical Geology for later semesters) and a one credit Chemistry course, since I didn't get to take high school chemistry.
Six more days all together... I can't get over it. I don't have a History of Western Civ I or College Composition 2 final. I do have a short Yoga final with a partner yoga class afterwards, we're reviewing for that on Monday. I have one more test in Algebra II and then we start studying for the final. I might try and squeeze some extra credit work in there, and that would take up a majority of my free time until after May 5th.
Oh yeah, I got called up for jury duty too. Figures, right? You call the night before, they say yes or no. Mom and Dad got the notification to see if they were prospective jurors and they didn't have to appear. Who's going to have to appear? Me. It always happens to me. Murphy's Law. The first day I have to call in is the day of my Algebra II final, and I've already made arrangements in the event I have to spend all day at the court house.
Not much else is going on. I forgot to write for a little while because of my schoolwork. I'm not complaining, I'm happy that I'm back in school. I want to keep up the good work and graduate with honors. Cum Laude ( 3.2< )? Disappointed. Magna Cum Laude ( 3.5< )? I'm happy. Summa Cum Laude ( 3.8< )? Fraking ecstatic!
