Where will this road lead

Merry Christmas!

Today, for christmas, I got my passport back from the Indonesian embassy! It was a great thing because we leave tomorrow for port moresby. I'm going to keep this journal entry short because both you and I want to enjoy the holidays away from the computer.

For all of y'alls information, I'll be spending 1 week in PNG, then 11 weeks in Indonesia. If a 2nd grader were to draw my itinerary on a map, here is how it would look:

We've spent the last week preparing to leave for Indonesia. We've had heaps and heaps of medical supplies donated, but they needed to be organized. So for two whole days we just sorted wound care products:

And then at night, our team likes to cook dinner together and relax. I think that in this photo we are all smiling because vern put on britney spears:

And then I read the team one of my favorite books:

For the christmas spirit, I chose to grow out some facial hair:

But No worries everyone I shaved it off christmas eve, so that I wouldn't get any food stuck in my mustache at our christmas meal today.

Here is another photo that I like. This one was taken at Little Crystal Creek, which is a nice watering hole about 1 hour from where I live. I think the sunglasses make me look like one of the three blind mice.

Ok so that's it for now. I probably won't update my journal again until the end of february. Hopefully I will have access to e-mail, and I would love to hear from everyone, especially encouraging words. I think this is going to be a tough trip. We have such a great team and a good purpose, but our main priority is ministering medical aid and I don't see us doing lots of tourism or having heaps of free-time for fun. Everyone please keep our team in your thoughts and prayers. And please pray that I don't get malaria.

Enough Said. This is turning out to be such an adventure. I'm excited to see where this next road leads.
