[There's a lot of murkiness in the stories about Mio, given that the memory of Rai was lifted from him courtesy of Mayfield, but the early stuff makes him beam.]

She was like a year or two younger 'n me. Back then, we didn't move around or anything, just... lived in one house, me and Mom and Dad, a few blocks away from Mio and her parents. So I got t' see her everyday and...

...she was just always so happy. No matter what happened to her, no matter how hard things got, she... always managed to smile and make everyone else around her smile because when she was there and happy... the world just wasn't so bad.
