We're not here because we're free. We're here because we're NOT free. There is no denying purpose.

I got a job. At the space center. Today was the first day of orientation. Eight hours of Power Point presentations. Blarg.

The actual job won't be near as boring. Eight hours of cleaning, moving shit, doing dishes, etc. is better than eight hours of droning speeches about sexual harassment and kissing customers' asses. But I'm already fairly sure I'm not going to like it. Jobs suck. That's why I want to be a filmmaker.

But whatever. The Space Center pays GOOD money. I'm starting off at $8.50/hr. After 45 working days, it goes up significantly. This will, without a doubt, pay for the rest of my education; be it two more years for Cinema Studies or three more for film school.

Hell, if I can somehow get 40 hours a week, and do that for a year or so, I could probably go back to my normal way of life for a while. Not like there's much I actually want to buy. A couple DVDs. Zelda: Twilight Princess, and FF12 (whenever the feck that comes out).

My mom gives me the impression that when I get my full badge (i.e. after the 45 day probationary period is over), I will be able to drive damn near anywhere on the property. I know I can drive to the Apollo Saturn V center (where they have an actual Saturn V moon rocket lying on its side). I'm pretty sure I'd at least be able to go to the Vehicle Assembly Building, which is the massive building where they link up the shuttle with the booster rockets and the giant orange fuel tank. I don't THINK I'll be allowed to drive up by the launch pads, but man, it would be awesome if I could.
