Now that I have broadband, I'm doing what I always wanted to do. But I couldn't do it with dial-up.
I'm legally acquiring my favourite music videos on P2P.
Some of my favourites:
Aphex Twin - Windowlicker: Starts off with two black guys trying to chat up some women. They all argue for a few minutes, then the car is pushed away by a long stretch limo. Aphex Twin is in the back, he gets out. This is followed by some vulgar dancing with inatimate objects, which include a street lamp and an umbrella. The umbrella transforms the women into Aphex Twin clones. Cut to next scene, with women in the limo stroking Aphex Twin and each other. The guys are still pursuing the girls in their car. The girls lead him to a beach, where Aphex and the women do some choreographed Michael Jackson-style dancing. The guys are admiring one of the dancers with her back turned. The woman turns around, and reveals her face, which is quite grotesque. She then slides under the other women's legs. Aphex opens a bottle of champagne and sprays it on all the women (paging Dr Freud!) who are dancing in slow motion. My favourite video ever.
Any video by Weird Al Yankovic: But if I could choose one, I'd go with "Gump". I love watching my 2nd favourite artist take the piss out of my 1st favourite artist.
Robbie Williams - Rock DJ: Is pretty average for the first few minutes. Features Robbie taking his clothes off for a group of rollerskating women. He gets fully nude, but still goes unnoticed. Which now gets to the good bit - he strips off his skin, then his muscles. The women are rubbing the Robbie meat on themselves and one woman is dancing with a Robbie skeleton.
System of a Down - Lonely Day: The band members riding in a bus, while random objects outside catch fire. Quite good.
Blur - Coffee and TV: The adventures of a walking milk carton. He's on a journey to reunite Blur's guitarist with his worried family. Cute.
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun: Features the band playing in a storm, some religious nuts praying for rain, a barbie doll on a spit and people with huge smiles. Quite fucked up, but I like it.
Beck - Girl: Beck wanders around a town, which is a series of life-sized Mad magazine fold-ups.
Aha - Take On Me: I'm sure you've seen this one. A woman at a restaurant is drawing some comics. There's one featuring the singer, which sucks her into the page. Excellent video for it's time.
The Presidents of the USA - Peaches: The guys playing in front of peach trees. Quite normal, until they are attacked by Ninjas. The band members fight the ninjas Samurai-style. Whee!
Basement Jaxx - Where's Your Head At: Monkeys have human faces put on them for the sole purpose of making monkey DJs. The plan fails, when the monkeys trash the recording studios and eat the records. The video ends with the scientist walking a dog, who also has a human face.
There's more good ones, but those are some of my favourites.
