Okay uh.
So there's this navy dude Nate.
Except he's not a navy dude now because a few years ago he was out at sea for navy things and then whoops his kid got the fever but the other navy dudes wouldn't let him go back because they are plot-driven assholes. So his kid's dead and he didn't get to see him before he died so he's sad a lot and stays in taverns all day being very unkind to his liver and also the other patrons.
BUT THEN. Then one day, this dude shows up at the tavern all "dude man you were a sailor, right, can you come on this watery mission thing with me," and Nate's like ":|||||||| /boozegulp" and the dude's like "...is that a no." and Nate's like "yes :||||||| /boozegulp" and the dude's like "no but seriously I have all the plans. and you would be perfect for the job. like, seriously. do you want money." and Nate's like "...eh." and the guy's like "do you want JUSTICE?" and Nate's like "what kind." and the guy's like "uh the navy was an asshole to me so I need you to--" and Nate's like "TAKE ME TO YOUR SHIP."
So the dude takes him to a ship! But it's a weird-looking ship. Like, it doesn't look like it's going to sail, it's all patchy and off-balance. But when Nate steps aboard it seems pretty sturdy under his feet and he looks surprised, and this other dude standing on the deck is grinning at him all "Yeah, I know, pretty cool trick, huh? Nobody will ever suspect our little dinghy could hurt a fly." Then the dude introduces himself, his name is Hardison and he can bend boats to his will basically. Then he meets Parker, chief picker of treasure chest locks (she fucking loves treasure, like, it's kind of scary how big her eyes will get at a nice jewel), and Eliot, the swordsman gunmen fear.
AND THEY ALL GO ON AN ADVENTURE TO GO...STEAL BACK SOME TREASURE THAT WAS LOST IDK. AND THEN SOPHIE SHOWS UP AND NATE IS LIKE ":||||||||||||||||||||" AND SOPHIE'S LIKE ":D" AND THE KIDS ARE LIKE "...?" and adventures ensue.
And when the adventure is over Nate's like "Well it was lovely meeting all of you petty thieves and criminals of the state but I have a lot of booze I could be drinking." and Sophie's like "ahahahaha no." and Parker unties the boat from the dock and Hardison starts moving the boat away from the dock before Nate can give them another lineface.
AND THEN MORE ADVENTURES INVOLVING TREASURE AND BOATS AND ELIOT CUTTING PEOPLE AND PIRACY. There is a lot of flag-based trickery and Sophie can do lots of accents.
