Ahahaha so here's how it went.
I got a mysterious message one day saying "Hey dude man something's going on would you like Windows to be good to you and block this wacky program"
"Oh okay"
"/VIRUUUUUUUUS"
I have no idea where it came from, but I caught the ~MALWARE DEFENSE~ virus. Look it up, it's actually kind of brilliant. For an insidious virus.
So it was like ten or eleven at night when this hits, so I'm getting all these messages about trojans and nonsense but it's too late for me to go mention this to someone. Except, you know, people online. Who use Macs and do not have these problems.
SO I TAKE MATTERS INTO MY OWN HANDS. I do a search and destroy mission on everything to do with the virus files. It gets better, but it still doesn't get rid of it. So I go in and make a major mistake.
WHO DELETES REGISTRY KEYS WITHOUT BACKING THEM UP FIRST AUGH AUGH AUGH my life. Whatever. So now Windows hates me, and only starts functioning after I reboot it a million times. I try a system recover, it just hates me more. Eventually I get sick of it and decide that my computer's too full anyway, time to back up everything and reformat. My dad is brilliant sometimes and after about a half hour of work figured out how to get Vista to do something that didn't involve sparkling and looking transparent.
SO HERE I AM, brain the size of a planet AT MY MOM'S LAPTOP, PRETENDING TO DO HOMEWORK WHILE MY COMPUTER PROCEEDS TO COMMIT SUICIDE. I mean reinstall Windows--
HOLY HELL GUYS, IT JUST WENT FROM 0% TO 1%, I THINK IT MIGHT BE DONE SOON.
...Yeah. Could be a bit before I get back online. Between this finishing and having to install a bunch of software all over again? Yeah.
At least it's just in time for the new semester.
