Memetime, brought to you by Eggoface.

1. Pick 15 of your favorite books or series.
2. Post the first sentence of each book. (If one sentence seems too short, post two or three!)
3. Let everyone try to guess the titles (no need for authors; I barely expect anyone to know the titles) of your books.

I AM A FAILURE AND AM USING FIRST LINES FROM BOOKS THAT ARE NOT THE FIRST IN A SERIES SOMETIMES, BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE ALREADY USED THEM. Besides, the first isn't always my favorite, so.

1. "____ was fourteen years old, and if this were the year 2010 and not 2011, and if this were not the state of California but, say, the state of Indiana or New York, he would not be driving a car." [The Mayflower Project (first book of Remnants) by K.A. Applegate, guessed by orangenoslide but nobody else because nobody reads these books I hate you all]

2. "A squat grey building of only thirty-four stories." [Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, guessed by Anders, come on guys it's like 1984 with orgies why aren't you reading this book]

7. "Testing, testing. One, two, three. Testing, testing. One, two, three. Maybe this is working. I don't know." [Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk, guessed by 1st_eggokage]

8. "Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun." [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, guessed by I'm getting sick of using LJ tags IT WAS EGGO]

9. "It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen." [1984 by George Orwell, guessed by 1st_eggokage]

11. "Deep within a dream, ____ felt someone stroking her forehead."

12. "Mrs. Gorf had a long tongue and pointed ears." [Sideways Stories From Wayside School by Louis Sachar, guessed by Andersface why wasn't this part of everyone's childhoods]

13. "____ crouched in a corner under two birdshit-caked blankets, watching the fog streaming through the windows." [Shade's Children by Garth Nix, guessed by Anders, is my Garth Nix fetish showing I think it is]
