Ahahahaha oh god Saturday.

Yesterday was SOMMERFEST which was basically this awesome festival with a bunch of stands for a bunch of countries. Italy, Spain, Deutschland (hurr), US, Greece (I think?), Ukraine, and Turkey. There was food and music and our stand had a football throwing game and--

SUDDENLY, RAIN

RAIN EVERYWHERE

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING AND OH MY GOD WE'RE GOING TO DIE

Oh and then all the Americans started playing frisbee in the rain. Except me because I'm lame and like being dry.

Well, vaguely dry. Our tent still let a fine mist go through.

So after we made it back home once the rain let up, there was dinner!

Okay, I gotta tell you a story about this dinner because it was kind of amazing.

I walk into the kitchen and see Luba eating pasta. With strawberries on top. Who eats strawberries on pasta? Germans, apparently. So I'm just standing there like "um what okay then Germany why not" and sit down, only to get a closer look at the pasta to find that it seems to be covered in parmesean cheese and chicken. "Well, all righty then Germany, take normal pasta and just. Add strawberries to it. Why not!" So Luba's mom serves me up and asks if I'd like any strawberries. Nnnno thanks, mom, but tell me is that really chicken there because this is getting really strange.

No, it's not chicken. Phew. It's just browning marks from the cheese.

Except it's not cheese, it's Quark.

If you don't know what Quark is, it's...hm. How do I explain Quark.

You know how when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much and have hot kinky sex that makes babies? And if they do it on multiple occasions the babies look different because the chromosomes order themselves randomly or something when the child is conceived?

Well Cream and Cheese loved each other tons and had two babies.

One was cream cheese, the other was Quark.

They've got the DNA of both Cream and Cheese, they're just. Different.

So okay, pasta and Quark. Why not. So I try it. It's kind of awesome. I try it with strawberries. Verdict?

EVERYONE SHOULD TRY THIS OH MY GOD IT'S AMAZING.

...That was a long entry about food. I should also probably mention that I saw The Magic Flute.

It was...interesting. I didn't know the story so that was one thing that kept me from understanding, in addition to the fact that it was in a language I didn't speak and they were SINGING it, which makes it instantly unintelligible in any language. I mean, I got words here and there, but that's about it.

The thing that really threw me off was the fact that it was modernized. The whole thing took place in a library.

I thought this was The Magic Flute, not Revenge of the Horny Librarians.

Everyone wore three-piece suits and Papageno looked like a lumberjack and Pamina was wearing a prom dress and just. What.

Also of note, the only song I had heard from it beforehand was the Papageno/Papagena one. This was in elementary school. Teacher told us what it was about; apparently some sort of bird creature had just found the only other bird just like him so now they could have babies. So I was assuming that Papageno was a bird. Like I had been told. And I saw a clip of it once somewhere where they were in big flashy bird suits. So the whole play I was waiting for that weird lumberjack guy to turn into a bird or something.

No birds.

Huh.

...Well the music was good.

AND OH MY GOD THE QUEEN HAS LUNGS OF STEEL I WANT TO TAKE HER VOICE. HOW DO YOU SING THOSE KINDS OF NOTES.

...All right I'm done.

WAIT, NO I'M NOT, IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. I'm going to a castle for three days. So uh. Seeya.

pasta is the best, what is going on guys, hnnnngh, sleep is awesome, pa pa pa pa pa pa, breakin' that f-list, this one's for eggo, germany germany germany
