Continuing my permanent makeup series, I’ll be diving into permanent brows or what’s more famously called, “Microblading” of “3D Eyebrow Shading”.
This is a bit more like traditional tattooing, wherein the technique uses tiny needles to file in pigments into the skin.
I already have lash extensions so this is the one I’m looking forward the most to getting done. I look completely different with and without brows so I’m never without them when I go out. The problem is it takes forever to get just right, so I’ll always waste a lot of time perfecting it before I’m out the door. And collectively, these are hours of my life I’d like to get back. (Or not waste in the future)
I’ve shopped around in different clinics and the procedure is more or less the same:
- They style your brows first so you could see the final look
- Once approved, they put on a numbing cream and wait for half and hour
- Microblading session
The entire process takes about one to two hours.
The initial results would be a very dark stain for about 3-5 days until the top ink wears off. It would look normal thereafter.
You’re not supposed to touch or peel it, even though it might itch (I have a feeling it will, like hell). They’ll also give you an antibacterial ointment to use to avoid any skin infection (Yikes!)
You’ll need to get two-touch ups and some clinics offer these as a package.
Unlike a permanent tattoo, this will last you about 2-5 years.
Procedures in the US can cost you around $400-$800 dollars.Z
