Now don't get me wrong. I love autumn. It's a damn fine season, with its cool breezes and bundled-up folks and colorful leaves. No, the problem I have with it is the colorful leaves on the ground.
Yes, it means more work for the gardener. But that's not the root of the issue. Rakin' is relaxing and pleasing and I like to sing merry little tunes while I rake.
BUT IT'S WHEN YOUNG HOBBITS HIDE IN THE LEAF PILES TO SCARE THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF AN OLD GAFFER AND IN TURN MESS UP THE PILE HE'S SPENT THE WHOLE DAY MAKING THAT I START HAVING A PROBLEM.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me thrice, hide your bums because by then I'll be keeping a hot branding iron on my person.
I asked Mr. Bilbo to please get me one of them leaf-blowers. He got me a new pipe... for blowing longbottom leaf, like.
Eh. I ain't one for shunnin' gifts. *goes for a smoke*
