Hey ya'll! I'm new to this community, although I've been lurking for awhile. Oddly enough, I don't have a digital camera (I do have a 35 mm at home and a Polariod instant camera) so it's been a bit hard for me to participate.
But I borrowed my suitemate's camera and decided to join in!
Sorry some of these are from older challenges!
This is where my books live! Sadly, it looks as if I don't own many books but I couldn't bring them all to school with me.
To name a few, I have a thesaurus, the Bible, As I Lay Dying (The Sound and the Fury is usually with me, but I took it home to let my dad read it), Crime and Punishment, Heart of Darkness, The Catcher in the Rye, a travel book, a book of stories from the ER (Complications) and some books for writers with really interesting prompts (
The Pocket Muse,
The Pocket Muse: Endless Inspiration and
The Writer's Book of Matches.)
And for some less fun books...my Organic Chemistry and Statistics book. And two of my three Literature anthologies (which I actually do enjoy) for my American Literature class. I think there's more mess in this picture than there are books.
And this is what's in my purse. College football tickets and minor league baseball tickets (clearly I do not clean out my purse as the baseball ticket is from this summer). Receipts to Ruby Tuesday's and a Chinese restaurant. A metro pass, a 15% off coupon to American Eagle that I never used, chapstick, allergy medicine, Tylenol (2 bottles - I get a lot of headaches), compact mirror, my checkbook wallet (except there's no checkbook), car keys (the ones above my phone), SPARE car keys (the ones with the yellow Peep keychain. I know it's not wise to keep spare car keys in your purse since it wouldn't do much good if you locked your purse in your car as well, but I have yet to take them out) a small black writing journal, and my phone. Among other things.
This is where I internet - aka my desk as school. Very cozy, no? (I'm kidding about it being cozy, by the way). It is VERY cluttered and also the same place where I keep my books.
Just a close-up of my desk. I keep just about everything on my desk, including food. There's my class schedule, a black and white picture of Hugh Dancy from a Burberry ad, and the TV channels here (I'm not from here so I don't know the channels very well).
If you look closely you can see a picture of a Washington monument (Iwo Jima), my nephew, and my address at school.
This is the view from a window. It's a big window right next to my desk. That's the breezeway, complete with giant tree blocking most of my view. Although it is a very pretty tree. The picture doesn't really do it any justice because I love pulling the blinds up and opening the window earlier in the semester when it's still warm out.
Just another view - I don't know why the picture came out so dark.
And now my shoes! I have more at home, but once again, I can only bring so much crap to school.
Top Row, Left to Right: My Sperries (which get worn the most), my knock-off Birkenstocks, my Chucks, and my American Eagle flipflops.
Middle Row: Black flats, some cute greyish/brownish/purpleish flats, and my Rainbows.
Bottom Row: My soccer cleats (I play pick-up soccer and I was on an intramural team here at school), my indoor soccer shoes (I don't play indoor but I wear them like tennis shoes), and my tennis shoes which I use for the gym and for when it rains.
Note: My dorm room has the ugliest floor known to man.
Just another shot of my shoes...perhaps you can see them better.
That's all for now - hope you enjoyed!
