claudia and whiskey

I'd like to keep you close
like the pint of whiskey i keep in my back pocket
and only take you out when i need you
because addiction just like obsession
is suffocating.
the drink at 3 in the morning
is like the booty call at 5am warm and comforting
but ultimately useless.
i'd like to think i'm not dependent on you
and i have high tolerance but my shaky hands just prove
there's abuse in our relationship.
