So recently, a handful of people on my flist have been having pretty lousy days/weeks/time frames. I've been trying to do the appropriate friend thing, "It'll get better," "I'm here for you," "Stay strong," etc, etc, etc. However, as I was going along typing, periodically I just wanted to say "Me and Jesus love you!" (which is true), but most of these friends I'm pretty sure aren't Christian. So is that still a nice thing to say then? I mean, even if you're not Christian, the idea that your friend and whoever she believes in is on your side is encouraging, right? Or is that offensive/being pushy? Like, "I know your day sucks, so HAVE SOME RELIGION to go with it"?
Me, personally, I would appreciate the sentiment. Like if someone came up to me, "Me and Allah love you," or "Me and Buddha are Team Bug!" I mean, inwardly I would totally be like, "But they AREN'T REAL!" but I would appreciate the thought my friend and her faith were thinking about me... On the other hand....
I dunno. Flist, what say you?
