A vampire chooses one he or she desires to share the gift with. Then they drain that person until they are almost dead. At that point, they give them their own blood.

No and yes. However, more powerful vampires can survive sunlight.

False. Our sense of smell is better than the average human but we are not repelled by garlic.

I can understand if you don't want to answer this next question but I'll ask on the off chance that you can. Does it require unusual means to kill you? Such as the traditional lore of stake to the heart, decapitation, fire, etc?

Yes and no. A stake to the heart would be painful but it wouldn't kill us. We can recover from that. Fire is our usual method of suicide so that can kill us though more powerful vampires could probably manage to survive it. And decapitation would probably work. Assuming you could catch us. After all, it's usually impossible to kill us as we sleep since we lash out and kill those who try.
