I just wan to point out that there's an anime that has, as of a few weeks ago, made 400 episodes. 400 EPIODES! Over 10 years One piece has actually grown into the single largest anime I know and acknowledge as worth a damn. Can anyone imagine the effort that has gone into four HUNDRED episodes of ANYTHING? Even now I find it mildly worth watching, even if it wasn't as enthralling as it was in the first few dozen of it's episodes.
