adventure
so i was sitting in the lounge area on the top floor of the music building with some of my friends when suddenly a creature fly past. our first reaction was "oh my god, it's a bird!" and then we realized it was a bat.
he was cute, but completely freaked out about being inside and not being able to get out. so we decided to help. we chased him around the music building for awhile until he finally went into one of the instrumental locker rooms. we shut the door and tried to figure out how to catch him. finally, we saw our friend bryce's food from the cage (the coffee shop/restaurant place) sitting out. with the to go things, there's this plastic lid over the plate. it was perfect. so we took it in with us to the locker room. it was elizabeth and rachel and myself. he was majorly freaking out in there. it was so sad!
rachel eventually couldn't take it so she left. which was ok because she was freaking out and it was making things worse. elizabeth and i stayed in there for about an hour trying to get him when he would land. eventually, he landed on the face of one of the lockers. i took the plastic top and put it over him ever so gently. we had some staff paper that elizabeth slid behind the lid and under him as a back. dr. rodland, an organ teacher whose office is right in there with the music lockers, got us a book for support since one piece of paper just didn't really do it and elizabeth got that behind the thing.
then we took it outside and let it go.
i would say we have pictures, but that definitely wasn't working and it was a bad idea to try because it just made the bat's hell that much longer.
but it was cool.
