Music is incredible.
I'm working on some homework and decided to have some music on, but nothing too heavy so I put my entire library of like 2000some songs on shuffle and skip over the "heavy" songs.
this is why music is incredible:
one of the songs from The Lion King came on--one of the ones that goes on in the background, not one with words that everyone knows. i haven't seen the lion king since i was pretty little (ok, it was like a couple years ago) and i could see what was happening during the entire thing. it really brought me back to when i was younger and it was really cool.
well, after that a savage garden song came on. story behind savage garden: my sister gave me her cd when i was in middle school because she didn't like it and there were three songs i really liked on it and that calmed me down, so i listened to them at night when i was scared and couldn't sleep or when i was with a group and there was someone snoring and i couldn't sleep. basically it was the cd i put in my discman, programed the three songs to play on repeat and then would listen to throughout the night. it was amazing what memories the song brought back. it just reminded me so much of middle school and was a kind of indescribable feeling, but also really amazing.
so that is why i love music. it has so much control over everything. it's all around and it is such a huge part of our lives, even if people don't realize it. you may not know it, but one day you'll hear a song and it will do something inside you. and it's amazing.
