Chapter 2
Project 101 And The Missing Bracelet
The next day, Reika continued teasing Miyane to death.
"ohayo Mi-chan! Where's your prince---I mean Chinen-kun?" Reika greeted her with a grin.
"Rei-chan, I don't know where he is." Miyane replied with obvious disappointment in her face. She glanced at the empty seat beside her.
"Oh, I see. Mi-chan is sad because Chii-kun isn't here. Don't worry, he'll show up soon" Reika assured her.
"I'm not."She replied defensively.
"I can tell by just looking at your face."
Suddenly,the door opened. A guy entered the room whom Miyane don't know.
"Who's he?" Miyane asked
Reika sighed, "That's yamada Ryosuke"
Miyane then watched the guy make his way towards the seat beside Reika.
"Of all people, why do I have to seat beside you?" Ryosuke complained while staring at Reika.
Excuse me,but I didn't tell you to seat here. Go and find another one, I won't stop you!" she shouted.
Ryosuke sighed and looked at Miyane.
"A new transfer student?" he asked
"Are you talking to me?" Reika muttered.
"whoelse? BAKA!" he replied
"Don't call me BAKA! You so-self-centered-big-mouth-strawberry-addict! BUTA!" she said annoyed.
Miyane looked at them with amusement. She didn't know that Reika has that strong side of her. The whole class was left silent because of Ryosuke and Reika's fight.
"Don't make a fuss in the classroom this early in the morning. Having an LQ again?" Chinen said then looked at MIyane. "Ohayo Mi-chan!" he added.
"We are not having an LQ!"Ryosuke and Reika shouted in sync. Both Miyane and Chii laughed.
"Ohayo Chii-kun! Ne, since when did you arrive?" Miyane asked
"Just now" he replied. He glanced at the two who are still fighting.
"Stop It!" Chinen shouted the stopped in an instant.
"Yama-chan please control your temper" Ryosuke was about to speak but chinen continued to talk.
"And you Rei-chan, don't act like that, you're a lady you know."
"She? A lady?" Ryosuke said while trying to hide his laughter.
"And what do you call yourself? A man?" reika challenged.
"Ryosuke...Reika..." Chinen said while looking at them.
"Hai! Hai!"
Chinen turned to face Miyane.
"Ne Ryosuke, this is Miyane Nakada. MI-chan this is Ryosuke Yamada."
"yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!" Miyane bowed
"Yoroshiku!" Ryosuke replied
All of them returned to their respective seats. Awkward silence occured.
"Ne,chii-kun"Miyane mumbled
"HAi?"
"Do Ryosuke-san and Rei-chan fight often?"she asked
"anou.."Chinen said hesitantly "You really can't tell if that's a fight but yeah, that happens a lot" he smiled.
Again that smile. Miyane thought
"Ah. Sou desu ka. Its the first time I've seen Rei-chan like that. It’s kind of new to me." She replied.
"You'll get used to it." he assured her.
The classroom adviser entered the room.
"Today,I'll pair you up to work into a Math project." Mayu-sensei said
"EH? MATH?!" Reika shouted making the whole class to look at her.
"Yes Takamori-san. Math." she said.
Miyane glanced at her friend at laughed silently when she saw her reaction.
"As expected from a BAKA." Ryosuke said
Reika ignored him and looked at Mayu-sensei again.
"Here are the partners.... .Yoshino-san.... and Nakamaru-san.... Yuri-san and Nakada-san..
Lastly, Yamada-san and Takamori-san."
Chinen whispered to Miyane "I'm glad we are partners" That caused Miyanes heart to beat faster and blush.
"Me too chii-kun. Good luck to the both of us." she whispered back.
"What? Me? Her? NO!" Ryosuke stand up.
"Don't say that as if you are the only one who feels that way!" reika shouted back.
"Is there any problem?" Mayu-sensei asked.
"Yes! and it’s a very big one." The two said again in unison.
"I'd rather pick chii-kun to be my partner!" Reika said.
Then I'll choose Nakada-san" he replied
Chinen and Miyane glanced at each other with a confused expression.
"Based on your reactions, i guess I did the right choice." Mayu-sensei said with a grin. "Well then I'll see you later." she added
After that their class with other teachers started. At last, lunch break. Miyane turned to face Reika but was surprised to see her head down on her desk.
"Ne, Rei-chan, let's go down now" Miyane invited her,
".......Hai........" she replied with an obvious low energy in her tone.
"Daijobu desu ka?" Miyane can't help to ask.
"Hai." Reika replied
"You don't seem like it." she said
Reika sighed "Of all people, why him?"
Miyane patted her back "Rei-chan, it can't be helped and besides, its only a project."
"You only say that because your partner is chii-kun." Reika muttered
Miyane blushed "Eh? Of course not.".
"See? That's what I'm talking about. Its okay for the both of you because you like each other." she said bluntly
"Rei-chan don't say that, we are only FRIENDS."Miyane put an emphasis on the word friend but blushed even more.
"Friend is a common name. And just so you know, you're face is as red as a tomato now." Rei-chan teased.
"We are talking about you here. Ganbatte kudasai Rei-chan!" Miyane encouraged her.
"Hai. Ganbarimasu.." Reika nodded
Back to chinen and Ryosuke
"NOOOOO! My first project is ruined already." Ryosuke shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Don't be so mean. It'll probably work anyway. You'll never know if you don't try." Chinen said.
"You can only say that because you're not in my position" Ryosuke pouted
"I doubt it. Rei-chan and I are in good terms so there's no problem about it." Chinen smiled.
"Then can we change partners?" Ryosuke begged
"Nope"
"I knew it!" you like NAkada-san." he replied
"Eh?Eh? its not like that. Chinen mumbled defensively
"It’s pretty obvious"
"I don't know if that's what it is but I'm happy when I'm I'm with her."Chinen said" But let's not go there, we are talking about you here. i know you can do it." he added to change the subject---and it worked.
"I hope so" Ryosuke sighed

After a while Reika and Miyane returned to their classroom. They passed through the hallway. Suddenly, Miyane remembered her missing bracelet. She then started to look for it.
"Doushite?" reika asked
"I'm looking for my bracelet. I know I dropped it somewhere here." Miyane said, now looking at the side of the lockers.
"Why don't we go to the lost and found center?" Reika suggested. She looked at her watch and smile. "We still have time, don't worry."
"Awww.. Arigatou Rei-chan." She hugged reika because of joy." You're the best."
Reika hugged her back. "I know." she giggled.
They went to the lost and found in their school.
"Sumimasen kinomichi-sensei, is there any given or surrendered thing her yesterday until today?" Reika asked
Kinomichi-sensei looked at her. "Sorry to say Takamori-san, but there's nothing here."
"Ah. Sou desu ka. Arigatou Gozaimasu!" she bowed
Reika turned to MIyane
"Sorry Mi-chan."
"Iie, daijobu. Let's go back now."
Miyane was disappointed though. She need to tell her mom immediately about that missing bracelet. She suddenly remembered chii-kun whom he bumped last time.
"Could it be?" Miyane whispered.
"Could it be what?" Reika asked
"Rei-chan, I think Chii-kun has my bracelet."
"Nande? Reika blurted out because of shock.
"He's the one whom i bumped last time and maybe, he picked it up since I ran off immediately last time."
Reika kept silent. In their room, she looked at Chinen who is talking happily with Ryosuke.
I know just what to do with this two. Reika thought
Later that day
"Mi-chan, sorry I can't come with you today." Reika apologized " I really have to dosomething important." she added
Miyane smiled "Its okay. I'll go home first then. Ja`!"
As soon as Miyane is out of sight, she hurriedly went to chinen's desk.
"Ne, chii-kun" Reika mumbled
Chinen looked at her. "Hai? Nani?"
"Let's go home together."
"Eh? Why?" Chinen asked, confused by the sudden request of her friend.
"I have some important matters to discuss with you." she replied bluntly.
"Okay then." he agreed. "Ne, Yama-chan, go home first. I'll go with Rei-chan today."
"You? with her?" Ryosuke asked.
"Don't get me wrong Yama-chan. We have something to talk about." chinen smiled.
Reika flashed a grin " Geez. Sorry to burst your bubble but yeah, we are just going to talk"
With that, Reika and Chinen left. As they walk along the corridor. Chinen can't help to wonder what Reika wants to discuss with him.
"So, what is it Rei-chan?"
Reika paused making chinen to so the same.
"Do you have Miyane's bracelet Chii-kun?" she asked straight forwardly
"eh?"
"Mi-chan said that you're the person whom he bumped last time. Its looking for it you know. Its important ot her."
Chinen sighed. "Yeah, I really wanted to give it back but I just don't know how."
"I know." Reika giggled "You just don't know how to approach her. Too shy---maybe"
"Are you a psychic or what? How did you know that?" Chinen mused
"Nah, just got it from my observations." Both of them laughed.
Reika patted his back "Don't worry chii-kun. I'll help you with that."
"Really?" he said
Reika nodded.
"But how?" he asked
----SILENCE----
"What?" he asked again.
Reika smiled. "Its a secret.
Eh?
"I'll let you know about the plan tomorrow. I better warn you. You have to be as obedient as possible, okay?
that's all. Gotta go. You may now go back to BUTA---eerr I mean Yamada-san. Ja~!" she waved furiously at him.
"Rei-chan wait!" chinen shouted. "I thought we're going home together? geez.." he whispered. He went back to the room again thinking of what crazy idea Reika has in mind.
