Author's note: Today is Ryutaro's Birthday so, here's a tribute for him.
It’s already 11:45 in the evening. "15 more minutes" Ryutaro told himself. He kept on rolling and tugging the sheets of his bed while thinking of what might happen tomorrow. Tomorrow will be his 15th birthday and he's so excited about it. Since he can't sleep at all, he decided to go for a walk.
"It’s freezing here" he said
He then made his way through the playground near his house. He's surprised to see a girl sitting at the swing by herself. The girl has long black hair with beautiful brown eyes. He suddenly recognized the girl it was Nanami Sayo, his next door neighbor,friend and most of all, long time crush.
"What are you doing here so late in the evening? It’s dangerous, you know." Ryutaro said
"I should ask the same question to you. What are you doing here?" Nanami replied
"Well,I can't sleep so I decided to go for a walk. Then , I saw you." he answered.
"Same goes for me."she sighed.
Silence reigned.
"It’s been a while since we talked like this." Ryutaro muttered so as to break the silence between them
"Yeah. I miss the old times." she smiled.
Nanami and Ryutaro were so close to each other when they were still young. They're always together. But somehow, it changed when Ryutaro entered the entertainment world. Both of them lose contact with each other.
"Can you still remember the time when you called at our house in the middle of the night saying, 'Nanami-chan, let's go stargazing'?" she turned to his side to face him.
Ryutaro thought for a while and nodded
"Yeah,you were sleeping back then and your parents wake you up. When you picked up the phone you started to scold me."
They both laughed. Ryutaro wished that he could turn back into time. He glanced at his watch and it’s already 12:02 am! It’s his birthday. He looked up but was surprised to see that Nanami's face is just an inch away from his!
"Eh?" he mumbled.
Nanami crossed the gap between them,and kissed Ryutaro's cheek softly.
"Happy Birthday Ryuu." she whispered.
Ryutaro can't move. Everything happened so fast. Nanami turned around with a smile on her face. She made her way out of the playground and went back home. Ryutaro touched his cheek and smiled.
"Its the best birthday gift ever!"
