(no subject)
1) i am so excited about meeting the new little mackay! even though i generally try to avoid loving babies too much so as not to encourage my wife's plans to have another ourselves, sometimes i crack and love babies a lot, and get very excited about my friends finally having their little girl on the outside, in a position where her every movement doesn't cause her mother discomfort.
2) the passion fruit margarita needs a bit of tweaking. maybe a little lime, maybe a sugared rim.. i'm not sure - its tasty, its just not right yet. which leads me into ..
3) having a new place to live is fine and all that, but i need to get some of my friends over here -- audrey has done a wonderful job with her unique insta-unpacking, such that almost everything is in place. i tried to do guy-jobs like drilling holes in things, and changing the dryer wall outlet to the right prong arrangement for our dryer. Somehow these things haven't made it feel like my own place yet. so i need to have people over, and walk my dogs around the neighborhood until i know it more intimately, and spread DnD stuff all over the table and floor... maybe buy and construct a new lego set on the coffee table. I also want to get started making paintings for the walls. audrey suggested i buy some canvases and do something for the big wall in the dining/living room, and i'm all excited, but i am also facing the reality that i am undertaking a large art project that i will actually have to regularly look at - a bit daunting. maybe it would be less daunting if i figured out what i'm going to do, and how i will go about it. seems like a logical starting place, but part of me really, really just wants to buy some canvas, lay it out on the floor in the garage, and see what happens.
